Hello everyone!

Question about the 500K. I see several comments claiming that you should always keep 500K in your account throughout 5 years. And I also see a lot of comments saying that it is not a requirement. I have a question to those claiming it is a requirement.

Can you please direct me to any official page that clearly says it is an ongoing requirement throughout the 5 years? And do not quote visa application requirements, as these are not the same things.

And secondly, if you believe it is a requirement but cannot point to a source then what in your mind is the point of that 500 000. If we cannot use even a single baht of it then what is the point of having it sleep in the account? Some claim it is for emergencies... But how can it be for an emergency, if we cannot use it?
Summary so far
The post raises a question about the alleged requirement to keep 500,000 THB in a bank account for five years for Thai visa purposes. The author is seeking confirmation and a reliable source for this claim, as many discuss it but don't seem to provide official references. Additionally, there is confusion over the practicality of maintaining this amount if it cannot be used. The conversation diverges into various unrelated comments about fast track immigration services, suggesting participants may be misunderstanding the focus.

Don Mueang is always ok. Quick and no questions. Fast track definitely not required there

So helpful to hear about DTV holders who have no issues with reentry, because most people who post about their experience typically post about a concern.

Just to clarify: this wasn’t meant to be a brag post. I simply wanted to share my experience for the record so people don’t get unnecessarily stressed by all the supposedly negative experiences with immigration that are often mentioned here. And as you can see from the comments, that seems to be the case for most people re-entering Thailand on a dtv. The vip fast track is convenient and to me great value for its money that‘s it. Have a great Sunday!🙌🏻
