I’m ready to book my Airbnb. I contact the host and they can’t provide me with a tax ID number. Is it mandatory?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for the STV (Special Tourist Visa) in Thailand, having a tax ID number from your Airbnb host is often required. This can be challenging if you are renting from a property owner who does not operate under a formal business structure, such as retirees who rent out their villas without a tax ID. Some users have successfully completed their STV applications with just a rental contract and the owner's passport, suggesting there may be flexibility depending on the situation.
