TLDR : Answer Summary
The processing time for the DTV visa can vary significantly between different embassies. Some applicants report receiving their visa approval as quickly as one to two days after submission without needing an interview. However, the necessity of an interview is dependent on the specific embassy and the individual case.

REALITY IS that unless you give us additional information there's nothing we can do to help you with your seeking to get the DTV visa. The answers vary among the many Thai Embassies and Consulates.

My DTV was approved to following day.

After initial submission they requested a full copy of my passport, including empty pages, which I provided the same day.

My submission: unemployed, no income, 6 months bank statement with monthly top ups from myself (another bank) and continuously increasing balance, a recommendation letter from the thai sport comission, vietnam visa as proof of being in vietnam.

Duration depends on embassy to embassy. Again Interview isn't mandatory as it again is dependent on the embassy and sometimes case specific.

I would say 7 days, 14 hours, 38 minutes and 17 seconds, but it may differ
