TLDR : Answer Summary
The approval time for a Non-O visa from Australia varies based on individual circumstances and timing. Responses from the community suggest processing times can range from 2 weeks to 3 weeks, with some experiencing delays particularly around holiday periods. One user indicated that their approval took about 10 days in July 2024 but expects it may take longer now.

QUESTION? As a UK citizen going to Thailand for the first time, do I get a 90 day visa on arrival? Do I need to apply for one? Can I extend for another 30 day? Can I apply for a DTV instead of a retirement visa? Thanks

no you get a 60 day visa exempt stamp which can be extended by 30 days at a local immigration office. It's not a visa, just a stamp in your passport and you don't need to apply for it. You can apply for any visa you qualify for but I'd say the retirement visa is much better than the DTV if you qualify for it

Hi also if I want to stay in Thailand can I get a one way ticket or should I get an onward ticket to say Vietnam and return. Also if I get the 60 day and extend , can I visit another country and return ? Would my stamp in passport reset?

Hi John thanks for information. I am eligible for retirement visa and have the sufficient funds. However I am not sure of leaving my funds in a Thai bank as that is the process I heard. I am scared that they may close the account. Also the reason for the DTV visa is that I need to leave Thailand back and forth to visit my children and family. Can I do that with a retirement visa? Thanks
