There was a post here about travel from Bangkok to Kuala Lumpur by train the other day. We more or less did the full length from Bangkok to Singapore (and back) a couple weeks ago as part of a "quick" visa run to Penang. This was my first tourist visa run since my stv ended and the embassy/consulate in Penang is back to business although noticed some changes since my last visit (it now takes 2-days for visa processing). Anyway, pulled together footage of the complete train journey for those thinking of similar. Penang is handy for visa runs from Bangkok (or hua hin etc.) without pre-booking flights, entry visas like in other countries etc. and the border restrictions are now relaxed for Malaysia asking only for proof of vaccinations and maybe an online pre-arrival thing (although we didn't do this on the return from Singapore). Otherwise the mysejahtera app and insurance etc. has been dropped. [members only]
