Hi all, read the following for O Visa "Incase of Income, provide a 12-month bank statement showing a regular monthly deposit of 65,000 Thai Baht into a Thai bank account and a certified bank letter by your Embassy in Thailand". How can you provide proof of 12mobtgs deposit in Thai bank if you've just arrived?

TLDR : Answer Summary
To qualify for an O Visa in Thailand, you need to provide proof of consistent monthly income or significant funds in your bank account. If you've just arrived and cannot show a 12-month bank statement with the required monthly deposits, you must transfer a minimum of 800,000 Baht into a Thai bank account initially. You can then start making monthly transfers of 65,000 Baht from abroad. However, if your embassy offers an income affidavit, you may be able to use that as proof instead. Otherwise, you will need to follow the bank transfer method to build up the required documentation for visa extensions in the following years.

this is how it works

IF you're comin' here and wanting to apply for a 90 day Non-O visa and then the year extension BUT you come from a country whose embassy does NOT issue the affidavit of income from abroad letter (US/UK/Australia, etc), you MUST transfer in to a thai bank account in your name only a minimum of 65K baht a month, each month, every month for the previous 12 months <- which means you cannot use monthly income method to get the in country 90 day visa (with just a few transfers in) OR to get the year extension after that (with just a few more transfers in).

Your only option the for the Non-O and the first year extension is the 800K baht banked money method.

THEN you can start transfering in 65K baht a month and NEXT year you can use monthly income for your new extension.

That's the only way it can work, never seen someone who can't get an embassy letter get a year extension on monthly income with less than 12 previous transfers 🙁

So 800k banked then after 12 month's, start depositing 65k upon renewal.

said, you get the year extension this year with the 800K baht but then you start transferring in the 65K baht a month right away because next year you're gonna need to show 12 months of transfers to get an extension based on monthly income.

technically can you withdraw most of the 65k as long as every month you are sending 65k from overseas bank?

@Mark ******
correct, there is no requirement to keep even a baht of that 65K baht a month you're transferring in to your thai bank account IN the bank account after it hits. you can drain it right now

You can't. For the initial Non-O inside Thailand (if you plan getting that) you need to transfer in 800k from overseas and then you can also use that for the first annual extension. Use that time to build up your monthly transfers. Unless of course ones embassy provides an income affidavit (UK doesn't)

I don't see why not as long as you stick to both requirements. Account has 800k minimum for 2 months before applying for the extension and for 3 months after then never drops below 400k for the remainder of the year

Which country are you from? Depending on that you have either (a) affidavit from your embassy certifying pension payments in your home country, or (b) 12 monthly international transfers into a Thai bank account.

Ain't gonna happen for the first year if you just arrived.
