TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses the process of obtaining a one-year extension for a Non O Retirement Visa in Thailand, specifically in Pattaya, using proof of financial resources from abroad. It highlights that while it's possible to provide proof from overseas, it typically requires an income affidavit from your embassy, which may not be readily available for several countries. For the initial year, the standard requirement is to show 800,000 baht in a Thai bank account.

If you are indeed from Germany, you can get an income statement from the German Embassy in Bangkok.

Proof of money from abroad would need your embassy to issue an income affidavit. Not so many do that these days, especially US, UK, Australia and Canada - perhaps others.
Otherwise it’s banked money in a Thai bank account for the first year at least.
