TLDR : Answer Summary
Users can enable auto-translation in the LINE app by creating a group chat that includes a Thai translator contact. Once the translator is added as a friend, the group chat can facilitate translating messages without needing to copy and paste. Additionally, LINE has built-in translation features for outgoing messages, and for typing in different languages, Gboard is recommended to use for a smoother experience.

It's only good for outgoing, but gboard is great way to type in Thai, or most any language, into any application. If your friend uses to type in English it's good for both ways.

Translate is built into Line.

The searching translator and choose TH-EN and invite the person to this and u got it
you have to make a group chat. Add your friend and add the Thai translator. You will have to add the Thai translator as a friend before making the group chat
I went through this process maybe a year or so ago. I was not impressed with the accuracy of the translator. Google as bad/unreliable it can be is much better.. or was.
