TLDR : Answer Summary
Immigration officials in Thailand typically prefer a printed version of the tourist visa, as indicated by embassy guidelines and signage at immigration counters. While some travelers report not being asked for a printed copy since the visa is on the system, others have had their visas checked with a physical printout leading to a smoother entry process. It's advisable to print the visa for convenience and to avoid any potential complications.

You will not be denied entry if it isn't printed but better safe than sorry. I have mine printed and laminated A6 size so about the same size as my passport. The IO always scans it, but I have never been asked for the DTAC.

When i came last week they asked me to show the visa even though they could see it on their computer. I had a print out, IO looked at it and then stamped me in.

The embassy tells you to print the visa when they send it to you. And this is what the signs say at the immigration counters at the airport.
