Hi All, ED Visa and ED Guardian Visa question

Our current VISA's are all up in November and we have just transferred the 500k each (before the 3 months).

Question is:

If we change school now via a transfer letter between schools is this a new Visa? And ... If it is a new Visa did we need the 3 months deposit for that period prior to the transfer or does the old visa expiry date stand?

Regards

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the requirements for transferring schools while on an ED visa, specifically whether they need to maintain the 500k THB in their bank account for 3 months prior to applying for a new visa extension after the transfer. Forum responses clarified that upon transferring, they must cancel their current visa and apply for a new one from the new school, and that the 500k requirement needs to be satisfied at the time of the new application.

You need to meet the requirements on the day you apply for the new Extension of Stay

ok great thanks .... so the answer is that yes we needed the 500k each in our accounts for 3 months prior to the date of new extension as that is part of the standard extension requirements.

If you like to transfer school, you visit the Immigration office, cancel your current Extension of Stay based on study with a letter from the old school and directly apply for a new Extension of Stay with documents from your new school.

As the Guardian visa is based on the Extension of Stay from the student the same procedure, cancel the current Extension of Stay and apply for a new Extension of Stay.

Sorry we have Visas, the 12 month extension is up in November (within the stamp)

Normally we extend through the kids school for another 12 months, which we need 500k each in the bank account. We have that but only just re-transferred across. We are thinking of moving school so will be transferring the visa to the new school

Question is did we need the 500k in the account for 3 months at time of transfer not when the current 12 months is up

Your current visa are all up in November?

I guess you do not have a visa, but the big stamp from immigration with in the second line Extension of Stay permitted up to xx nov 2020
