Do you need to have an appointment at muang thani immigration, or can you go there without one? Edit: You absolutely need one ! When you show up is a bit more flexible in that 4 hour window

TLDR : Answer Summary
It is generally required to make an appointment to ensure processing is smooth at Muang Thani Immigration, particularly for certain visa services. However, there are reports of individuals being able to visit without an appointment for specific tasks, suggesting some flexibility exists. For those who wish to secure an appointment, they can do so through the online booking system. It is recommended to print the appointment confirmation when visiting.
1. It looks like you need to make an appointment to use some of the services at Bangkok Immigration.
2. The IP address for the appointment system is
***********************************************
3. The attached graphic is the only options you can select for the appointment system. If you don't see the options it means you don't need to make an appointment.
4. If you don't know what some of those options are, ignore it; they don't matter to you.
Good luck one and all!

I just arrived to do a TM30 with no appointment got a queue ticket and got all sorted in a couple of hours.. most of that time was spent running between the girl checking my forms and the photocopier on a different floor... saved me going to the gym later (always looking for a positive in these troubled times 😉)

I made an appointment for my 90 day report but they didn't check at all, I just got a queue number when I arrived

Okay, the ONLY people who go to MTT for extensions are people who originally entered on a 30 day visa exempt OR a 60 day tourist visa and want the 30 day unable to travel extension OR a 60 day visit thai family extension (if you qualify for that)
So if you didn't show up here on a 30 day visa exempt OR a 60 day tourist visa you go to Chaengwattana for your extension.
only people in Bangkok can use CW or MTT. If you live in elsewhere, you'll use that immigration office,

My experience was that you definitely need an online queue reservation. The first time (of three consecutive business-day trips out there) I was sent away because I didn’t have an appointment. I was pretty sad about it because the place looked almost empty but they were very clear/adamant that I needed one. I was actually told that I should bring a print-out of my reservation. 🤷🏾♀️
I just opened it up, and I don't think you can make a reservation to get an extension of stay based on marriage using the online reservation system. You may have to walk in.
strange that the appointments for the short term extensions (Counter K) at MTT for visa exempt just have an 8:30-12 and 1:30-4:30 :O The extensions for tourist visas (counter J) have them spaced every 10 minutes like all the other appointment choices do :)
I think you can just show up any time between 8:30 and 12 and just show your appointment slip and they'll jump you in the queue

60 day tourist visa entry extensions at Counter J appointments every 10 minutes :O
as someone on visa exempt, what do we select for 60 family visit? I know we have to go to MTT but do we make the appointment as 30 day visa exempt entry extension?

Also make sure to hand your cash very deliberately. I put mine on top of the stack of papers and it went missing. They had to recount all the money on the receipts for the day to figure out that they did in fact have 2k baht on hand more than they should
turns out you absolutely do need one.... I'm here now. I managed to charm my way around it using a booking already in their system from this morning. Apparently having all the info on their computers from the web appointment thing is vital.
