Hi. I’ll be in thailand July time, and the plan was for my kids to follow a couple of weeks later with my their mum. Their mum can’t go now so was wondering if you have to be a certain age to enter thailand alone. The oldest is 17 and his sister is 12. I see most airlines allow a 12 year old travel with a 17 year old. Just the issue of entering thailand.
Thanks in advance 🙏🏼

TLDR : Answer Summary
A parent is inquiring about the age requirements for children to enter Thailand alone. Their 17-year-old son and 12-year-old daughter plan to travel, but their mother cannot accompany them. While most airlines allow a 12-year-old to travel under the supervision of a 17-year-old, specific entry regulations for Thailand and airline policies on unaccompanied minors are crucial to consider. Advice from other users suggests checking airline policies and ensuring vaccination and entry requirements are met, especially in light of COVID-19 guidelines.
This prior to Covid of course, some airlines offer Concierge / Chaperon services. I believe this is for direct flights only, but worth checking out. Hope this helps and safe travels!
Most airline class a 17 year old as an adult so I m hoping no issues with his sister going as well. My query was about entry into thailand as a 17 year old with his younger sister
I'm not sure now with the pandemic but my then 16 yr old flew with Air Asia from Sydney to BKK with no issues entering. I assume if they are vaccinated and have thai pass then enter through vaccinated line at Airport it wouldn't be a issue
