TLDR : Answer Summary
No, it is not true that the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) can only be applied for using a smartphone. Users can apply via both mobile devices and desktop computers. While some applicants prefer using smartphones, desktops may provide a more convenient application process, especially when dealing with multiple document uploads. It's important to ensure all passport information is correctly entered in the application to avoid immediate rejections due to errors.

What? Where did you hear that? It can be done on a phone or tablet but probably way easier to apply on a computer.

Parts of the application will require multiple pages per section but only allow for one file upload. That requires a pdf app or website to combine pages and stuff.

Whatever method you use double/triple/quadruple check that every item on your passport matches the application data. Many times there’s an OCR error when it “scans” the passport and fills in wrong info like dates and stuff.

If so it will be an immediate rejection of the application. The system prompts you many times to check, but sometimes people don’t notice the small stuff that’s wrong and wham! That application is refused and they’ll need to apply and pay again.

No, it's not true that you can only apply for the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) using a smartphone. While some applicants have used mobile devices to complete parts of the application process, you can also apply using a desktop or laptop computer.

How to Apply for the DTV

You can apply for the DTV through Thailand's official e-Visa portal:
*****************************
The application process involves:

1. Creating an Account: Register on the e-Visa portal.

2. Selecting the DTV Option: Choose the Destination Thailand Visa category.

3. Filling Out the Application: Provide personal details, including your permanent address outside Thailand, occupation, and company information.

4. Uploading Documents: Submit required documents such as a recent passport-sized photo, proof of financial stability (e.g., bank statements), and documents supporting your eligibility (e.g., remote work contract).

5. Paying the Visa Fee: The fee is approximately 10,000 THB.

The application can be completed on both mobile and desktop devices. Some applicants have used mobile devices to complete the process, but there is no requirement to use a smartphone.

Important Notes

Application Location: You must apply from outside Thailand. Attempting to apply while in Thailand may lead to complications.

Document Requirements: Ensure all documents meet the specified guidelines to avoid delays.

Processing Time: Processing times can vary depending on the embassy or consulate. Some applicants have reported approval within a few weeks.
