Hello, looked in the search bar and couldn’t quite find what I was looking for.
My partner and I are arriving in Bangkok next week, staying for a day/night, then taking the night train to Chiang Mai.
My partner needs to renew his UK Passport in Bangkok before we head off on the night train.
We also want to extended our Visa on Arrival 30 days on that same day.
Question is - are we allowed to extend our visas the same day we arrive to Thailand AND is it feasible to extend our visas AND get the ball rolling for his passport renewal the same day before we leave on the night train to Chiangmai?
The website says it usually takes 4 to 6 weeks to complete the passport renewal process with being overseas so that’s part of the reason we need to extend our visas right away so we have time for his new passport to arrive.
Is this making sense?
He’s English and I’m Canadian. Thanks in advance!
TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster is planning to arrive in Bangkok and needs to know if they can extend their Visa on Arrival on the same day as their arrival while also initiating a UK passport renewal process. They mention the urgency due to the passport renewal taking 4 to 6 weeks and express concerns about the feasibility of completing both tasks before taking a night train to Chiang Mai.
