Hello everyone!

I’m South African: planning to travel to Thailand for a 21-day meditation course in Dui Suthep in July. I’ll be traveling from Uzbekistan.

Question is: can anyone confirm if South Africans can get a 30 day visa on arrival at the airport or not?

I have tried searching in the group but found nothing. (If anyone can refer me to a post with a similar question that’d be great too)

TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
A South African traveler planning to attend a 21-day meditation course in Thailand in July inquired about the possibility of obtaining a 30-day visa on arrival. Community responses clarified that South Africans do not require a visa on arrival; instead, they receive a visa exempt entry, which allows for a 30-day stay in Thailand with just a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the entry date.

(As above) You will not require a VISA for stays of up-to but not exceeding 30 days :) Just your passport that's valid for at least 6 months beyond your entry date into Thailand. (I always tell my passengers beyond the departure date, to be safe).

South Africans don’t get a visa on arrival, they get what’s called a visa exempt entry - which is no visa, just a free stamp for 30 days.
