Hi everyone!

I’m applying for a DTV visa through the Thai Embassy in The Hague and have a question about the financial documents.

Would it be acceptable to submit six months of bank statements from my savings account instead of my current account?

I transfer €800 into my savings account every month and have more than enough money saved to meet the financial requirements. However, I don’t keep much money in my current account.

Has anyone successfully applied through the Thai Embassy in The Hague using savings account statements instead of current account statements? Just wanna be sure before applying.

Thanks in advance for your help!
Answer summary
A user is inquiring about the acceptability of submitting six months of bank statements from a savings account instead of a current account for their DTV visa application through the Thai Embassy in The Hague. Various comments indicate that as long as the savings account allows for immediate withdrawals and meets the required financial criteria, it is likely acceptable. Past applicants confirm that providing statements from a savings account has worked successfully.

One month ago, I also applied through the Thai Embassy in The Hague and provided proof that I had 500,000 baht in a savings account with Rabobank. This was accepted without any issues.

I assume the funds need to be held in an account that allows immediate withdrawals, rather than in a fixed-term deposit account.

Anonieme deelnemer It took 10 days to receive a request for additional documents. After I submitted the requested documents, my application was approved within 24 hours.

As long as it’s a personal, cash account, you can get instant access to… it should be fine.

The clear implication is that, you must be able to withdraw that money anytime and the whole sum of it must have been sitting in your account for at least 3 months. (In some cases with the embassy in London, it's ok for it to be in the account for less than 3 months but that's London.)

The 500.000 Baht should be immediately accessible at any time, which some savings accounts are not.

Use search including Embassy name for other people’s experiences.
