Would anyone know if one can rent a car and drive in Taiwan for 10 days, with a Thai or Swedish driving licence?

It's been difficult to get official information on this. Any advice or personal experience appreciated.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To rent a car and drive in Taiwan using a Thai or Swedish driving license, you must obtain an International Driving Permit (IDP) from the country of your license issue. For a Swedish license, get your IDP in Sweden; for a Thai license, obtain it in Thailand. Ensure you have held your driving license for at least five years to qualify for an IDP. It's advisable to confirm your eligibility directly with the rental agencies.

You need an International Driving Permit, which you can only get in the country in which our licence was issued. So if you want IDP for the Swedish licence, you need to get it in Sweden. If you need it for the Thai licence, get it in Thailand. There might be restrictions based on how long you've had a licence, as to which one to use. Avoid online IDP, they are scams and fake.
