Can I use automated clearance at Bangkok airport with a Non-B visa for a stay under 30 days?

If I have a Non-B multiple entry visa in my Hong Kong passport but don't plan to stay more than 30 days in a particular trip, could I use the automated clearance gates at either Bangkok airport and just get stamped in as Visa Exempt? Seems like I would never have the worry of getting hassled by IOs this way.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A holder of a Non-B multiple entry visa can technically enter Thailand using the automated clearance gates as long as they remain under the 30-day limit for a Visa Exempt Entry. However, it is important to note that using a Visa Exempt Entry means you are not permitted to work in Thailand, and the Non-B visa along with a work permit allows for work-related activities.

You get 90 days on your Non Immigrant B visa and in combination with the Work Permit you are allowed to work in Thailand. IF you decide to use this Visa Exempt Entry, your are not allowed to do any work in Thailand, just be here on holiday.

I appreciated your last answer and gladly it was indeed no issue when I exited but I just meant at the time it wasn't mentioned that getting stamped in visa exempt meant I also couldn't work that time. That's an interesting additional point to add to the consideration why I shouldn't get stamped in that way.

Search option is always handy to "remember" things. You asked the day before your leave if it would be a problem at the airport Immigration. That is a total different question than can I use Visa Exempt in stead of my Non Immigrant B visa to work inside Thailand, because I like to use this new fast lane access.

I wasn't sure if I needed to actually be stamped in on my Non-B to work, even if I have a work permit and a Non-B in my passport. If you recall, a couple of weeks ago, you answered my post about the IO accidentally stamping me in as Visa Exempt rather than on my non-B and you said it should be no problem as I was only staying in Thailand a week that trip.
