I'm in the north of Bangkok - Rangsit. I was wondering if immigration offices exist in Ayutthaya or Saraburi or other towns slightly north since it might be more time-efficient for me to go there to extend my tourist exemption?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The answer discusses the location restrictions for extending a tourist exemption in Thailand. It emphasizes that tourists must go to the immigration office corresponding to their registered address, with specific references to the Chaengwattana Immigration office in Bangkok.

I deleted most of the b/s from the thread (and sadly a few good comments on those answers too) BUT be that as it may.

You GO to the immigration office that your address in thailand dictates. I don't care if you can SEE the Chaengwattana Immigration office from your room, IF you're on the other side of Chaengwattana Road, you go to the Nonthaburi immigration office. Same for Samut Prakan. Doesn't matter if you're within spitting distance of it, IF your address is a bangkok address you use Chaengwattana.

The ONLY people who can "pick and choose" where they get their extensions are people on 30 day visa exempt entry or 60 day tourist visa entry stamps <- in the eyes of the thais people on those stamps are TOURISTS, and as long as you use an address that is covered by the immigration office you're applying for the extension at you're fine.

And time to close down. It has nothing to do with Thailand, foreigners changed their idea of tourism. i understand that it has nothing to do with people working and taking a short break to visit other countries, I know a tourist is a person who take a 2 day leave from their house to apply for a new visa to visit their house.

Tourist are people travelling around the country for sight seeing and relax at different spots. They can extend there Visa Exempt Entry or Tourist Visa at any local Immigration Office.

You can only use the immigration office in the region you're in. If you're in Bangkok, then it's CW.
