Hello, I have an tourist e-visa and will fly to Thailand soon from Europe. I wonder whether I can enter using the visa exempt stamp and save the tourist visa for a later entry? Anyone have an idea about this? Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires if they can enter Thailand with a visa exempt stamp while holding a tourist e-visa for future use. Responses indicate that while it's possible to attempt this, there's no guarantee it will be accepted. One suggestion is to present just the passport and not mention the visa, while another is to inform the immigration officer about the tourist visa and request to save it for a future date.

You can try either of these but there's no guarantee either will work. You can even try both of them by doing 1 and then 2:

1: don't mention the visa at all and just hand your passport and hope they don't say anything. This might work but there was a report of someone trying this recently and the IO looked it up and found their visa and made them use it.

2: just tell them right away that you have a tourist visa but you'd like to save it for next time. They'll either say yes or no.

thanks, that’s very useful.

Sure. But, I think the visa is only good for 90 days once approved/issued. Been a long time since my evisa. (2 years)

thanks. Yep the second entry would have to be inside the 90 days. I would in this instance be entering from Malaysia on my second visit, but presumably can still make use of the eVisa that was issued in Europe?

yes ! to the best of my knowledge. many peeps get them late and then do the same, use 2nd time entering, within 90.

thanks again. Does make me wonder whether you can apply for tourist evisas anywhere in the world (in Malaysia for example) for those who are eligible for it. Or maybe flight tickets submitted with applications must show you’re entering from a country that’s part of the evisa program.

in many countries its possible. Several variables like the particular consulates rules and your passports origin.
