Can I use my approved unused Tourist Visa to re-enter Thailand after exiting the country?

Hey peeps, have an unusual question, maybe someone can help:

I applied for a Tourist Visa (60 days), but it got approved only hours after I had already entered Thailand.

So now I’m a the regular 30 day exemption stamp, and still have my unused letter of approval for the visa, which is valid 90 days to activate (as I understand it).

Does that mean, if I’d exit the country now (or any time within the next 90 days), I could re-enter on the already-approved Tourist Visa that I didn’t end up using?

Or will they check if I’m actually arriving on the dates/flights whose info was given when applying for the original visa?

Would be a shame to let it go to waste 🤷‍♂️

Thanks for any insights! 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
You can use your approved Tourist Visa to re-enter Thailand even if it was issued after you entered the country. To activate it, simply exit Thailand and then re-enter within the validity period of the visa approval. Make sure to bring the Evisa email with you when you re-enter, and you'll be stamped in for 60 days, with the possibility of a 30-day extension.

Happens quite a lot believe it or not, 🙂 as people said, print it out, exit the country, present it when you re-enter. No issues at all getting stamped in on it

That's what I did. Re enter and you will activate your tourist visa which will give you 60 days

You are fine..

Just print out the Evisa email you received...

You can use it for entry into Thailand from the date of issue to 3 months...look at the valid thru ending date shown on the Evisa.

Leave Thailand by land or air and re-enter Thailand showing the Thai Immigration Officer the Evisa Thai tourist visa.

You will be stamped in for 60 days and it can be extended One time 30 days at your local Thai Immigration office for 1900 Thai baht.
