Hey peeps, have an unusual question, maybe someone can help:
I applied for a Tourist Visa (60 days), but it got approved only hours after I had already entered Thailand.
So now I’m a the regular 30 day exemption stamp, and still have my unused letter of approval for the visa, which is valid 90 days to activate (as I understand it).
Does that mean, if I’d exit the country now (or any time within the next 90 days), I could re-enter on the already-approved Tourist Visa that I didn’t end up using?
Or will they check if I’m actually arriving on the dates/flights whose info was given when applying for the original visa?
Would be a shame to let it go to waste 🤷♂️
Thanks for any insights! 🙏
TLDR : Answer Summary
You can use your approved Tourist Visa to re-enter Thailand even if it was issued after you entered the country. To activate it, simply exit Thailand and then re-enter within the validity period of the visa approval. Make sure to bring the Evisa email with you when you re-enter, and you'll be stamped in for 60 days, with the possibility of a 30-day extension.
