Can you fly in and out of Thailand more than three times in six months? I’ve been there 3 times since January (I’m an American in China) and stayed a total of 36-37 days. Will go there again this summer. Thanks for the advice.
Answer summary
Yes, you can enter Thailand more than three times in six months, but the immigration officer will assess your overall travel history, including duration of stays, rather than just the number of entries. Travelers suggest that frequent entries may raise scrutiny, especially if perceived as not following tourist behavior. It's advisable to have a clear record and, if necessary, consider applying for a multiple-entry tourist visa (METV) or related options to facilitate travel.

Be careful. I've just crossed for third time in 5 months and the officer not only put me problems but also advise me that this will be the last one this year.
You can enter Thailand as many times as they let you. No one can give you a sure answer except the immigration officer you're standing in front of. That being said, they're going to look at your past history for 12-18 months to see how much time you've spent in Thailand and make a determination based on that.
If you've done 36-37 days in total over 3 trips then no problems. They're clamping down on people they perceive to be living in Thailand on back to back visa exemptions plus extensions.
The number of times doesn't matter, it's more so the duration that matter. You have stayed inside Thailand around 78% of the time this year (110 days out of 140). Which mean that you are out only 10 days each time before coming back. This is not tourist behavior and this is exactly what they are cracking down on. Getting a METV, as suggested below, doesn't guaranteed you entry. An agent does tho (safe entry).
Chuck Stringer Yes they have approved the new rules. But have not set dates when it comes into affect. The news says 15days time but it's Thailand 🇹🇭 so have to wait ✋️
You would be safe on a Multi Entry 6-Months Tourist Visa for such a travel plan. The visa validity is 6 months from the date of issue, and each entry gets you stamped in for 60 days during the visa validity period. You can either buy a 30 days extension for 1900 THB on top of these 60 days, or exit before the 60 days are up, and re-enter on the same day or days or weeks later. On the METV you don't need to worry about denials of entry. Downside: normally the METV has to be applied for through the Thai online E-Visa system of your home country, i.e. the country of your residence
Alan Rothwell sorry then I misunderstood the OP. I thought he plans to exit and re-enter Thailand in the next 6 months for three more times. I didn't realize that with the "three times" he meant his recent three visa-exempt entries
