Can an embassy request different documents in follow-up requests and do they sometimes ask for documents already provided?

When the embassy does a request for documents, do they request all they need or can they sometimes request documents for a different section? Like, if they ask for more about location, do they ever come back later and request documents for finances?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When an embassy requests documents for a visa application, they may not specify all required documents initially and can issue subsequent requests for different types of information. It is possible for them to ask for documents already submitted if they need clarification or further details.

They do what they want basicly. If they not sure if to rejecr or approve they might ask for diffrent documents just to push the weight on a direction.
