TLDR : Answer Summary
The consensus among users is that while some embassies may accept proofs from brokerage accounts such as those from Schwab or Fidelity, most require funds to be shown in a personal bank account. One commenter specifically mentioned that their Fidelity account was rejected for visa purposes, necessitating a traditional bank statement instead.

There are a few embassies in America who approve via such accounts. You can find such approvals in the threads. The vast majority of embassies worldwide require it in a personal bank account.
