Can a 90-day Non-O visa be converted into a retirement extension using monthly transfers of 65,000 baht?

I obtained a 90-day none O E visa from the Thai consulate in the UK.

My question is, can this be converted into an extension to stay (retirement visa). I can prove I have sent over more than 65000 baht for more than the last year of international transfer from the UK to my Thai bank account. Is this enough for immigration or do you need the 800,0000 baht in the bank for 2 months prior to applying.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user with a 90-day Non-O visa from the Thai consulate in the UK is inquiring about converting the visa into a retirement extension. They mention having transferred over 65,000 baht monthly for the past year but are uncertain if this meets the requirement of having 800,000 baht in the bank for two months prior to applying. Responses from the community highlight that the immigration office's policy is critical, particularly as some have faced denials despite meeting the monthly transfer criteria. It is emphasized that contacting the local immigration office for guidance is the best course of action.

I will touch on this one more time.. When they changed the rules (just after the three big embassies here [UK, US and Aussie] stopped the income affidavit notaries) and went to the monthly income method by international transfer they did have a provision written in to the rule that said special dispensation should be given to people getting their FIRST retirement extension using monthly transfers insofar as if it was the first yearly extension from a new Non-O you didn't need 12 months of transfers.

BUT

With that being said, I have NEVER, as in not even one time, seen any immigration office accept less that 12 months of international transfers to issue a yearly extension, and never saw an office issue an initial yearly extension using monthly transfers not even one..

All I can say is CONTACT YOUR IMMIGRATION OFFICE and ask what their policy is..

The only one who can tell you IF monthly income method via 65k baht a month international transfers for the previous 12 months will work would be the immigration office where you would apply for your extension..

The reason I say that is I had someone at Chaengwattana who was here on a 90 day Non-O visa they got from a thai consulate, AND they had 12 months of international transfers in excess of 65k baht a month,

BUT

they were denied the yearly extension based on monthly income because they weren't ON an O visa/extension for the previous 12 months 🙁 They had to use banked money method (which they luckily had in another bank account)

So I'd say as soon as you get here, GO to your immigration office with your bank book and show them the 65K baht a month transfers and ask IF you can use it or not

Does the 65,000 baht have to be transferred monthly or proof that you get 65,000 baht + monthly thru government pensions still qualify you for said Visa ?

@Michael *******
your embassy here either issues an affidavit of income from abroad notary letter (which the US, UK and Australian embassies STOPPED doing) and you use that letter

OR

you transfer in 65K baht a month, each month every month for the previous 12 months before you apply for an extension

There is no 'other proof' you can show so if your embassy doesn't issue the letter and you want to use monthly income you have to do international transfers
