Hello Everyone!

Does anyone have experience with online Thai cooking / Muay Thai courses for the DTV?

Was it accepted by the immigration?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses whether online Thai cooking or Muay Thai courses can qualify for a DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) in Thailand. Many commenters expressed skepticism about online courses being accepted by immigration authorities, suggesting that physical presence in Thailand for a course is required for DTV eligibility. Some users find the question naive, while others emphasize the importance of following regulations for visa applications. The overall sentiment indicates that online courses do not meet the DTV requirements.

From my experiences, choose a course you are interested in that is supported by an institution and has a physical location (not an online course). The course should be at least 6 months long.

After applying, then submit the necessary documents from the school to apply for your visa. Once your visa is approved, you can finalize your study plans later.

Guys, let’s short statement.

I find it so intense that a simple question that is asked out of interest is immediately insulted and laughed at.

I’ve heard of it and couldn’t imagine that something like that would work. That’s why I ONLY ASKED FOR INTEREST.

I already have my dtv. I don’t need online courses.

As most people comment here, it simply shows their views on their fellow human beings and how they deal with them.

It’s a shame.

the question remains, why you would need a visa for a country you do not need to be in if you are online.

Sorry, but you're giving people the perfect opportunity to yell at you. We keep seeing people trying to cheat the system to get a visa, making things harder for those who are legitimate. It's just not fair! You already knew the answer, so why ask the question out of self-interest (what you didn't even mentioned in your post)? If you have your DTV, just keep attending your classes, and everything will be fine.

Anonymous participant 608 but it’s also fine if I just ask out of interest.

I found the topic of the visa interesting and just wanted to understand it

pardon me, but the question asked was ridiculous....but nothing beyond the realm of getting the DTV visa.

Such a fraud intent was a hallmark of the Ed Visa and Volunteer Visa of recent years.

Which resulted in a crackdown on those who have them in their passport by Thai Immigration Officers.

That is NOT what I want to see happen with the DTV visa.

What is with your insistence upon not following the very generous guidance for this visa?

Like, why do you wanna push the limit for other people to not get it in the future?

I mean, it’s kind of obvious that you don’t need to be in Thailand to do something that’s online. Why would you need a visa?

Yeah, a lot of people got away with some ham courses, but the thing is they’re getting questioned at the airport, for applying in different countries that have a tendency to produce false documents and not really following the program guidelines and I hope some of them get their visa canceled or tonight entry or FaceTime some sort of hardship for not following the rules like everybody else had to.

I’m really happy to answer anyone’s questions about the legitimate pathway to this visa, but like use some common sense, an online course does not mean that you get a visa to go live in another country and I don’t know what country would really give you that, it’s almost a preposterous thing to ask and it may seem kind of rude, but you have to realize the amount of questions like this that come into this group every single day, the amount of people who don’t realize that the tourist visa and think they have a right to a bank account or whatever it is it gets old

If it's online, no need to come to Thailand, hence no need for any visa.

It is not the plant one. Some get it with that one and some not. The online bit is only if you cannot make it to class. I told the on Line if yiu made classroom attendance pretty much compulsory there might be more acceptance.

Does that not negate the reason for a DTV visa then. Do it on a METV.

You don't need a visa to follow online classes. You can enter Thailand on a tourist exemption.

Why would you need to be in Thailand to do an online course? No chance at all with that one! 😂😂
