Hello everyone, I have a valid DTV and will be returning to BKK in 2 days. I’ve just completed my THIM registration and correctly entered my DTV visa details. The system indicates that I am eligible for the automated gates does this now apply to DTV holders?

You are NOT elligible for the auto-in arrival gates, those are for people entering free stamp (visa exempt) 30 day stamp ONLY

You hold a valid visa so you go thru the manned gates and get a hard stamp,

PRINT out the PDF of the DTV eVisa, hand it with your passport to the officer when you stamp in to the country

When they hand your passport back CHECK you got the DTV category entry stamp for 180 days too :)

If you use the auto gates you won’t get a stamp in your passport and you’ll be registered only for the maximum visa exempt stay your passport is entitled to.

This may lead to you assuming you were ‘stamped in’ for 180 days but in fact were only given 30 days. That could easily lead to 150 days overstay which would be a very bad thing.

Use the normal channels and get a stamp.

Dont do it. Automated gates are for people without a visa, it says it clearly. Dont risk losing ur visa.

THIM (Thailand Immigration Management) app. It is an option to the TDAC, it issues a TDAC and in future will be used for other immigration tasks such as 90-day reporting, schedule appointments at immigration.
