Are appointments still necessary at the Phuket Immigration office for visa renewals?

Just a quick FYI if using the appointment booking system at Phuket Immigration office.

I made an appointment a month ago to renew my annual retirement extension and received a reminder by email the day before. However, on arrival was told they don't use the appointment system anymore and take a number 🤣

The queue was not too bad as there seems to be more staff now.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shared their experience with the appointment booking system at the Phuket Immigration office, revealing that despite making an appointment to renew their annual retirement extension and receiving a reminder, the office no longer uses the appointment system and instead operates on a ticketing basis. Comments from other users reflect frustration over the inconsistency of appointment systems at different offices.

I hate that some offices pull that "we don't do online appts" b/s. I would have said I wanted to file a complaint about it 😮 but that's just how I am

Thank you for the report. that’s the reason why the Phuket immigration office doesn’t put the appoinment link any more.
