HI. I am planning to retire to Thailand hopefully by August. I have gotten various answers from visa agents. I am confused as to the process. Do I start i the USA with the O-A visa and then go to IMM once I get a residence? So far I meet the financial requirement for that visa. And can I open the bank account once I get there? Also, anyone here who has moved with pets, I could really use some advice on a reliable pet transfer services. I am bringing my cats..Thanks so much for your help.

I am a German Citizen and will travel next week to Jakarta to apply for an O-A Visa, which seems to be necessary to get the goethailand Application approved.

Two questions

For the A-O Visa, do I really need to have 800 000 Baht or equivalent on a Bank account? I have not. Some information says only 800 $ per Person are necessary. What is the situation? what to do?

They ask for a document saying no criminal record. I have not such a statement. Where and how to get it? Is such a statement really required? I have not been 20 years in Germany

Please help if you have knowledge. From 2012 to 2017 I had retirement visas for Thailand in my old passport would that help?

Joachim

Any help is very appreciated

I've just come across the passage below regarding extending an o-a visa. I was unaware that it is possible to extend it in-county by depositing 800k in a Thai bank. The passage makes no mention of seasoning. The best thing is to check with them, but I thought I'd ask here first anyone has information on, or experience of, this? Could I deposit 800k in a bank a couple of weeks before my visa expires and expect it to be extended for a year? Thanks.
