Hi All, I am due attend Chiang Mai Immigration on Monday to renew my marriage visa for the first time. I believe I have all the necessary documentation required. My question is, if I am successful will they give me the visa stamp there and then on the day, or will I have to wait for the stamp and come back on another day?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When renewing your marriage visa at Chiang Mai Immigration, you will receive an under-consideration stamp on the day of your application. You will need to return later to obtain the full one-year stamp.

The Chiang Mai office gives your passport back on the day of your application.

As you are applying for an extension based on marriage, you would get under-consideration stamp. You will go back to the office to get the stamp for the rest of 1-year on the day on the U/C stamp.

You will keep your passport during U/C.
