Happy new year everyone had 4/5 visa free stays last year but only stayed a few weeks each time before returning home or travelling to Laos did maybe 3 trips there only a week or 2 into my Thai exemption 60 days arrived Don Mueng 3 weeks ago and was questioned by immigration referral but allowed in stayed a week then went to Laos been there 2 weeks and hoping to return to Thailand for a few weeks

Should I anticipate problems ? Or have limits now been reset ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about potential immigration issues when returning to Thailand after multiple visa-exempt entries in the past year, totaling around 120-150 days. Despite previous questioning at immigration, they recently received a 60-day visa exemption stamp upon returning. Comments suggest that due to the frequency and length of their stays, future entry might be scrutinized. There are no resets on immigration counts, but applying for a tourist visa could enhance their chances of smooth re-entry.

your short stays in Laos can be seen as border bounces as you didn't return "home"

Based on what you describe, your total time in Thailand is likely in the range of roughly 120–150 days, spread over many visa-exempt entries with only short stays outside the country. While each stay has been relatively short, the frequency of entries and limited time abroad is exactly what immigration now looks at more closely, which explains why you were already questioned on your last arrival. There is no “reset,” and a further visa-exempt entry is discretionary. To reduce risk, the sensible step would be to apply for a tourist visa before your next entry, which does not guarantee entry but materially improves your chances compared to another visa exemption.

No, personally I would then considered to go for a safe entry service through an agent to secure a safe entry. At least be prepared to show onward ticket, accommodation and funds if asked.

How many days total did you spend in Thailand last year ?

If more than 150 i guess they may start looking at your travel
