for DTV workation visa, I got my steady income on one business bank account, but the 500000THB on a fresh personal bank account at a different bank (created 3 months prior). will this be problematic in the application process?
Answer summary
The user is concerned about their DTV workation visa application due to the requirement of showing 500,000 THB in a personal bank account. They have the amount in a new personal bank account but also have steady income documented in a business bank account. The discussion revolves around whether the recent establishment of the personal bank account will cause issues during the visa application process.

If your on a British passport you can fly back the UK with an expired passport but you need to be careful with any lay overs where you have to clear immigration and the intermediate countries can deny entry

It's the airline that will be a problem not the uk boarder force as they have to let you in as a British Citizen

You cannot board a commercial flight to the UK with an expired British passport. While UK Border Force must allow you entry as a citizen, airlines strictly enforce valid passport rules. You must either renew your passport or apply for an Emergency Travel Document to travel.

You cannot travel on an expired UK passport, as airlines and transport carriers will deny you boarding. While the UK border cannot deny entry to a British citizen, you will likely get stuck at your departure point without a valid travel document

For clarity people, I flew back a month ago with only 5 days left on passport, yes was asked by immigration but told them I had checked HMPO and they said you can have one day left and arrive back in UK and I did. Small point though, you cannot transit out of any foreign country because your OP does not have 6 months. I flew via China and did not leave the airport during stopover. Was asked at both Thailand and Beijing departures and told them it is legal, I even got the outgoing airport to confirm by email it was ok. Just saying 🙏🙏

Glenn Mills Actually, you can ENTER Thailand on a passport with LESS than 6 months validity, on a 60-days tourist visa, IF (!) you enter across a land border!

It is only an airline rule (!) that would not allow you to board a flight to Thailand with less than 6 months validity left. It has NOTHING to do with Thai Immigration.

ACTUALLY, across a land border, Thai Immigration only requires your passport being valid for the rest of time of the period of stay you can expect to get stamped in on that visa or on visa-exempt.

You can then fly back to your home country on a passport with literally only ONE DAY validity left

because not every stopover is equal. check with the airline first prior to departure, explain the want to renew your passport from your UK address rather than having to go to the embassy. Joni1828 in a nutshell, so long as the airline boards you and you may also get flagged by immigration in Thailand as you're supposed to have a minimum of 6 months validity in your passport, though they probably won't bother. Makes sense, I'd still advise at least 6 months validity on departure just prevents issues, again it's down to the airline. They'll probably be ok about it. Thai airways even waived the excess baggage fee for my wife leaving Heathrow back to Thailand so.. But best bet call and check and as the op stated, probably best for direct flight only.

@Brandon ***********
Yeah, I mean it'd be an advisory, they'd probably say along the lines of, you need to renew your passport or such but sure, they'll not deny you from flying, airline might though as I said. But you do need 6 months validity in your passport to and from Thailand. Again though, as you've stated it's not enforced. Thai nationals who have dual nationality also SHOULD enter on a Thai passport but I know people who have travelled into Thailand on their other passport.
Ben *********
Ben *********
Not sure, how many people would remember the suan phlu days, that place now is tasked with processing predominantly ASEAN countries, that place was rammed daily, bit like going to renew your driving licence, queues were endless.
Brandon ************
Brandon ************
@Ben ********
There is no technically speaking. It's not an issue. It's not a concern of immigration. Immigration DOES NOT LOOK at the validity of your passport to LEAVE. That's not their job. It's not their concern. They don't care if your passport has 1 day left. It's nothing to do with them. You are leaving.
Ben *********
Ben *********
@Brandon ***********
Yeah, I know but technically speaking... though they'd probably overlook it. You're supposed to have at least 6 months validity arriving or departing to/from Thailand but the thing is enforcing the departure part is probably a massive effort. Don't forget too, Thailand offers almost the whole world visa on arrival, no pre screening so they all have to be screened on arrival which is a mammoth task too, then all the 90 day reports and all that nonsense, makes sense why immigration there moved from suan phlu out to chaeng wattana.

You can fly home regardless of how long is left on your passport, but you'll need to make sure it's a single itinerary ticket that doesn't involve a self-transfer where you'd need to enter a country to check-in for your next flight.

Some countries even allow you to return with an expired passport, like Thailand.

I once made that mistake,wife's passport had less than 6 months going back to Thailand. I checked with Thai embassy all good. Then booked flights, was a right deal to fly to Singapore first, i never thought about the passport. Got to Singapore went through immigration, jesus, you would think she was wanted for murder. They treat us like garbage, wouldn't let her through, escorted her to the gate for the next flight. Meanwhile, has we were moving back to Thailand i had 3 big suitcases 2 cabin cases, my 2 year old and her pram. I asked them for help they just ignored me, had to trundle on my own to the check in desk which included a bus ride. Won't make that mistake again 😆

The airlines enforce the arrival country requirements. Thailand lets Thai people return home on an expired passport, so the airline will also let them fly home on an expired passport. MOST countries don't let people enter unless they have 6 months left on their passport, so the airlines will not let most people fly with less than 6 months left.
