Why wasn't my DTV visa showing up in the immigration system after approval?

3 days ago
I applied for my DTV through an agency. After it was approved, I entered the country by bus. At immigration, the officer was about to give me only 60 days, even though I had received a PDF confirmation from the agency. After I showed the officer the PDF, I was finally granted the DTV. How is it possible that it wasn’t showing up in the system?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user experienced an issue at immigration where their DTV (Digital Thailand Visa) was not recognized in the system, resulting in an initial offer of only a 60-day stay. After presenting a PDF confirmation from their agency, they were granted the DTV. Community comments emphasize the importance of PRINTING and presenting the visa documentation upon entry, as immigration officers may not have access to all visa details electronically. Users are advised to take initiative by displaying their visa clearly and providing all necessary documents to avoid complications.

Ours wasn't in customs system at airport. They need to see DTV and add hotel info

Print it passport size. Laminate it, and put it in with your passport.

Very silly mistake on your part easily preventable.

The onus is on you to present your visa upon entry and not rely on immigration seeing that you have a DTV.

You are supposed to print out the visa and hand it over with your passport for future reference

Always inform passport control officers of your visa by printing it out as instructed on the evisa website and showing it to them along with your passport and TDAC.

Immigration doesn’t know your visa unless you show them your visa. It isn’t in their system

It has always been in the system when I have gone through. I do not carry a paper copy, but can pull it up on my phone if asked. I have only been asked once when arriving at BKK. I usually come through CNX. They have never asked, but always stamped the DTV.

- they know after the first time but they don’t before that

@John ******
they do. And you even fill it in your tdac

@Upadhyay ********
then why do they ask you to bring it with you?

the last 2 times I entered thailand, Wasn’t asked either for the visa or the tdac.

Not sure how it works.

Sometimes they indeed asked me to show the dtv. They verbally asked “show your visa”.

The policy is to show your visa. How is immigration supposed to know you want to use your visa? Take responsibility and show/state what you want to the officer.

Anonymous participant These immigration officers spend all day stamping 90% of people in visa exempt without a visa. They're not going to spend time hunting through every file or the line would never move. Because the policy is to provide both your passport and visa together, it's your responsibility, not theirs.

Make no mistake by showing the printout. As with anything in Thailand assume nothing !!
