Hi members...

I'm looking at visa to suit me...Thinking of AO over 50 retirement. But hear you need health insurance... Having a few medical conditions that most insurers don't want to know me...And brokers want arms and a leg...

1. Can I self assure if I provide funds in bank

2. Can I just insure and not include my conditions.

Looking for best options

Have defacto relationship

Of over 10 years....

And been supporting...

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is considering the non-OA retirement visa but has concerns regarding health insurance due to pre-existing medical conditions and high costs. The community clarified that self-insurance is not allowed for the non-OA visa; approved insurance from designated Thai companies is mandatory. Alternatively, they suggested considering the non-O visa, which does not have the same insurance requirements.

You have to get insurance from a company approved by Thai immigration

First of all, it's the non-OA visa, not the AO visa.

You cannot self-insure for non-OA. You must purchase approved insurance from one of the approved Thai companies on the embassy list.

If you don't want to have to worry about insurance, get the non-O visa instead. That does not require insurance, medical certificate, or background check like the non-OA visa requires.
