ORIGINAL POSTER
I just received my 'personalised' letter from USA embassy for 2nd extension on 30-day tourist visa, which translates to them putting my name, DOB, and passport number on the bottom of the letter. I still have some time left on my 1st extension, so no idea if this letter works, but just letting USA citizens know that 'personalised' letters are being offered.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A USA citizen has received a 'personalised' letter from the USA embassy in Thailand for a second extension of their 30-day tourist visa. The letter includes their name, date of birth, and passport number. Although they still have time left on their first extension, they are uncertain about the effectiveness of the letter. Commenters suggest that while these letters are being issued, they should be printed in color and may not be accepted at all immigration offices.

Yes I've heard they want the original

Your best shot is to print it IN color and print the email they sent it to you in too.

BUT be advised there are reports of it being denied at some immigration offices because it's NOT an official original letter

How can you get the 'original' letter though?!

thanx for the update, they've been doing it for a day or so now.

report back if you get the 30 day unable to travel due to covid-19 extension with it
