What should I prepare for re-entering Thailand with a DTV via Phuket or Koh Samui Airport?

Hey everyone,
I have a valid DTV and have already entered Thailand once with it. I’m now planning to enter Thailand again via Phuket or Koh Samui Airport.

I’m a bit worried because I’ve read quite a few posts about people being denied entry despite having a valid DTV. I’d therefore like to make sure I have everything prepared.

For my arrival, I’ll have:

✅ Passport

✅ Valid DTV / e-Visa approval document

✅ TDAC confirmation

✅ Address in Thailand (I'll be staying with friends)

✅ Recent bank statement showing sufficient funds

Has anyone recently re-entered Thailand with a DTV, especially through Phuket or Koh Samui Airport? Were there any issues at immigration, and is there anything else you would recommend having ready?

I heard there were often problems, especially when arriving in Phuket. Should I fly straight to Koh Samui even if it would mean my flight would cost around $150, or am I worrying too much?

If you have the choice, then take Samui instead of phuket. People always report big husstle with Phuket. I personally never got an issue at Samui Airport.

There are verifiable reports of DTV holders being required to fill out 'Passenger Statement Forms'. Sometimes upon first entry but others after several previous entries with their DTV. This form asks for your financial information; 1) Cash, 2) Bank balance, 3) Other. Also purpose of visit. If neither currently enrolled upon a qualifying cultural course or working remotely online your purpose of visit defaults to 'vacation'. No requirement for a return/onward ticket. As already suggested, possessing 20,000 THB cash or equivalent is a requirement of entry although you might not be asked to show it.

In case you are on Soft Power, make sure you also have an ongoing Muay Thai or cooking course or a doctor appointment in case you are on medical. In case you are on Workation you should be able to prove that you are still working online. And regarding sufficient funds, a bank statement with at least 500k would do it. Good luck
