Motorcycle riding in Thailand is not for the faint hearted, and learning to ride here 🥴 make sure you set up your go fund me page in advance
Get a car instead. Motor bikes are for people that wish to die soon, believe that they are 30 years younger than they are, or like to inhale dust & fumes and sweat
Stick to public transport mate, much safer, cheaper or @ least use the Thai motor bike taxis...... The traffic & roads are very different compared to bk home...
A scooter/motorbike is as basic as a bicycle. ...But there still a lor of lessons you will have to learn on your own... and in bkk traffic, those lessons could = a hospital trip.
Search for a driving school in the area you live in. They'll teach you the basics, get you through the written test (multiple choice) and give you a paper to take to the DLT to get a physical card
As a motorbike rider for the last 50 years , I would say go and learn in a country that has much less traffic on the roads .
You need at least 6 eyes to ride here and all of them looking in a separate direction and different distances.
Also Being able to read the metal box drivers minds is a must
If you do decide to go ahead with learning to ride. Be VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY Careful or you will end up very seriously injured or dead.
Only last week an idiot metal box driver pulled out of the exit of the condo complex where I live and wiped out a motorbike rider and smashed their leg into the bike and very seriously crushed it 😭
Best try a Google search to find a company that will put you through the basics and your motorcycle licence. Also depends where you are in Bangkok as there are quite a few around.
Because if you have never ridden a motorbike before nor even passed a motorbike test in your home country. Best not try riding one in Thailand. Apart from invalidating any health/medical insurance. Surmising you have one. It is quite a dangerous hobby to take up.
