Hi all has anyone any experience of the Had lek border crossing? It's been a long time since I've had to do a border bounce so can you still cross for a hour or so and then come back? I've heard you have to stay? If so for how long? I'll probably get a Cambodia e visa is that fairly efficient? And lastly is the a car park on the thai side to leave as I don't fancy driving in Cambodia

Thanks for any assistance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Had Lek border crossing offers a car park on the Thai side with a fee of about 200 Baht per day. For visa purposes, many recommend obtaining a Cambodia e-visa to streamline the immigration process. While you can still do a border bounce, there are suggestions to confirm how long you need to stay in Cambodia. Some suggest arranging a tuk-tuk to Koh Kong for accommodation, avoiding the complexities of driving in Cambodia.

Driving in Cambodia is fun, though the Cambodian customs likes to charge Thai vehicles 100 Baht a day for the "privilege ".

Anyway, yes, theres a car park next to the border which will cost 200 Baht a day. Might almost be worth paying the 100 Baht a day fee to drive into Cambodia, then arrange with a hotel in koh Kong to park your vehicle there if you're traveling beyond there to other parts of the country and don't wish to drive yourself. While it may not end up being much cheaper than just paying 200 Baht per day to park on the Thai side, it is more convenient as you don't have to endure the hassle of arranging transportation to/from the border and dragging your luggage through the border crossing.

Not been for visa purposes but crossed many times in the past. Yes car park on thai side - left hand side just before border. 200 bht per day charge when i last used. E-visa works well and saves any hassle with immigration. If you need to spend a day in cambodia then jump on tuk tuk to koh kong - lots of cheap hotels - pop into fat sams for food and a black panther beer!
