To those who got Income tax refund here in Thailand, how long was the waiting time? How is this claimed? What documents I need to prepare? (Besides form filling )

Asking because I’m moving out from Thailand in 2weeks.

Thanks in advance πŸ™πŸΌ

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion addresses the experience of expats claiming income tax refunds in Thailand, focusing on the waiting time, which typically takes a few weeks if all details are correctly provided. Comments suggest that after approval, a check is issued that must be deposited into a bank account. The query also emphasizes the urgency due to the individual moving out of Thailand in two weeks, highlighting the need for clarity on the documentation process.

Normally a few weeks, if all the details are completed. They will issue a chq, you take and bank into your bank acct

You can submit online too. Not sure of the details or if can prompt pay. My HR does it for me and I get a check to bank in.

thanks John. So only fill in one form β€œPND1” and hand in to the bureau and that is good enough right? Or online submit, can I ?

Yea if complete the check up I can request to receive by prompt pay system.

i think you mean the VAT "value added tax" which you will get back inside the airport if you can present them all receipts you got for your purchases. You can only apply if you are on a tourist visa, though
