Has anyone currently applied for a visa in America through the New York embassy? There are usually short turnaround times. I been waiting 3 weeks and still "processing waiting for approval ". I am applying for 90 day stay with Thai family.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the visa processing time at the Thai embassy in New York, having been waiting for three weeks for approval of a 90-day visa for visiting family. Community members shared their experiences, mentioning varying approval times from different consulates, potential alternatives like entering with a 60-day exemption followed by a 30-day extension, and advice to reach out via social media for updates.
It's a crap shoot, I've gotten 3 of those same 90 day visas from the consulate in LA and the approval times were 6 days, 14 days and 2 days (working days). No explanation given. But it shouldn't take longer than 14 working days. I think that's they're time limit unless they notify you or ask for additional info.

Try messaging them on Facebook. Most Thai embassies/consulates respond fairly well there.
thank you very much. I did do that, but I was getting the same response. In text, that is saying the same thing. If I look it up online on my account still in processing waiting for approval. I did find out that they are just too many visa applications. And only one person who can validate the visa

Not yet but will be soon. Please let me know if you have difficult or continued delay!
i did actually get to talk to somebody at the New York embassy. They said only one person has the authority to validate a visa. They said they are getting about 50. Electronic visa applications per day.
