What is the process and requirements for obtaining a DTV Workation visa in Thailand?

Question

DTV Workation, EU Citizen, remote business started few years ago.

5th May - I arrived to Hanoi

8th May - I applied for DTV for workation

13th May - status changed to pending approval

15th May - rejected (no reason given). I went to embassy and asked them personally,after she checked my document, she said  - "Change an embassy". That was a bit ridiculous but I did what she said.

23rd May - I arrived to Vientiane (Laos)

24th May - I applied again

26th May - I was asked for an additional document which I provided but in better quality (passport bio page)

26th May after about 1 hour - status changed to pending approval

26th May after another 1 hour - I was invited for interview

5th June - Interview and visa approved.

Interview Question:
* What kind of plans do you have to spend time in Thailand?
* Show me account with your invoice payments
* Show me account where you have a balance over 500k
* Show me what do you do, examples of your work

Key tips:
* Dress well, be polite and elegant, very important thing in my opinion
* Take your laptop or print everything what you have provided
* Double check if your mobile apps are working to show your statements or bank balance
* Smile (yes,really), don't go there like you would go to jail, this helps in my opinion

The airline could and actually should stop you. If you arrive 16 Dec and leave 17 Jan you are  3 days over..it's not a calender month exemption..it's 30 days including the day you arrive and depart

I was in a similar situation due to a miscalculation on my part . I realised my mistake days before my departure date . I contacted immigration and was advised that since the fine for the overstay would be less than the fee to extend that I shouldn't bother extending . As it turned out , I was stamped out at the airport without being fined . It was a less than half a day overstay , and the just told me to be more careful next time.

The same thing happened two visits later due to a last minute flight cancellation with the same result.

A couple of visits later the immigration officer at arrivals noticed the overstays in my passport and told me sternly never to let it happen again.

I can give you a couple of mine...still got my 60 day's stamp last week on the visa exemption....only need 32 of them 🤣🤣
