What are the steps and experiences involved in applying for a Thailand DTV Workation visa?
DTV Workation, EU Citizen, remote business started few years ago.
5th May - I arrived to Hanoi
8th May - I applied for DTV for workation
13th May - status changed to pending approval
15th May - rejected (no reason given). I went to embassy and asked them personally,after she checked my document, she said - "Change an embassy". That was a bit ridiculous but I did what she said.
23rd May - I arrived to Vientiane (Laos)
24th May - I applied again
26th May - I was asked for an additional document which I provided but in better quality (passport bio page)
26th May after about 1 hour - status changed to pending approval
26th May after another 1 hour - I was invited for interview
5th June - Interview and visa approved.
Interview Question:
* What kind of plans do you have to spend time in Thailand?
* Show me account with your invoice payments
* Show me account where you have a balance over 500k
* Show me what do you do, examples of your work
Key tips:
* Dress well, be polite and elegant, very important thing in my opinion
* Take your laptop or print everything what you have provided
* Double check if your mobile apps are working to show your statements or bank balance
* Smile (yes,really), don't go there like you would go to jail, this helps in my opinion

You have a 60 day visa but book 63 days in Thailand 🤔 give it a go and see what happens 😆

You can buy a refundable plane ticket and cancel is if you get an extension for the extra three days you want to spend, a lot of people do it, I’m doing it.

60 days on entry, But the airline may not let you board the the plane as your visa does not cover the time your in Thailand, go on Google and buy a cheap onward travel ticket within the 60 days of your visa 👍😎✌

You have a tourist visa witch is for a stay of 90 days in Thailand. The reduction 60 days to 30 days is for entry for visa exempt. With a proper tourist visa you can stay your 63 days but you have to arrive before your visa expires. Your airline maybe ask you for a return or onward ticket.

No, there is no 90 days tourist visa.
It is a 60 day tourist visa and you get a 90 day period to enter Thailand

Has the decision been published in the gazette yet? From what i understand it doesn't take effect until 15 days after it is published. I am due out on 18th June.

60 days is 60 days... if you overstay you will have to pay and maybe blacklisted...

What ever happens up to seven days of your 30 August date go to immigration and get an extension for another 30 days 1900b

You can stay 59 nights and would be charged 2000,- THB of overstay fine on departure. If you get caught on overstay before leaving the country, you end up in jail. Better get an extension of stay before running on overstay.

EmeraldBeet5619 25 years and 130 round trips ive made so far. So. for example …i travel from Miami on Qatar to Doh Bkk. Never asked about Visa . From Frankfurt on Lufthansa & Paris on Airfrance was asked and in fact insisted on out bound tix. But hey you got good people answering you. I wasted my time

Out of curiosity, I decided to see what Qatar would do at check in for a non visa flight (excempt 60 day stamp)
Sure enough, they noticed that my return flight was outside of the 60 day window and started to deny me boarding. I then provided a flight out of Thailand with another carrier within the 60 day stay.
I wanted to see what the airline would do - I’ve seen enough people talking about 25 years and 130 flights, which is nonsensical.
A flight in 1999 has NO bearing on what practices are in place today.
So, instead of helping out the check-in by providing the inward travel up front, I wanted to see what the Miami process in February 2026 would be…
