What is the process and experience for applying for a DTV visa in Thailand?

DTV soft power route accepted via London today🥳🥳🥳

Applied Monday evening 10pm. Tuesday 10am request for more documents. 1am this morning received an email of approved visa.

Highly reccomend Dowden Muay Thai in Koh Samui. I messaged them on instagram and they was very helpful throughout the whole process. They said they have only just started doing the DTV visa and have had less than 5 apply so far. They was very thorough and helpful. Would highly recommend. Wasn’t requested anymore Muay Thai docs so what they gave me first time round was plenty.

they had multiple packages. I went for one of the most expensive as I’ll training there everyday, Was around £550 for the 6 months. They had a couple much cheaper options for the most basic packages just enough to get u the visa, but can’t remember prices off the top of my head

Thank You for your helpful report 👍

Congratulations 👏👏👏

PRINT OUT THE EMAIL THAT HAS YOUR DTV VISA.

That's what you should do... print it out.

You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.

Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.

thanks for that, it’s crazy that this is the route I have to take. We travel on the 3rd August and my daughter starts headstart Phuket, my daughter and partner go on ed visa but only one parang can apparently go that way, I’m a uk business owner and will be working remotely so I felt this was the best way to get a visa

I think you are saying that your dsughter is getting the Ed Visa to attend School and your partner is getting a guardian visa? Or is your partner also getting an Ed Visa? IF your partner is not related to your daughter, she might not be eligible for the guardian visa.
James ********
Who is eligible for guardian visa?

be the student's parent, legal guardian or relative. have enough money to support yourself and the student during your stay. be able to provide accommodation and other support. be at least 21 years of age.

Check with your local Thai Immigration office for their requirements for the guardian visa.

The link above is helpful BUT not from an official Thai Foreign Ministry or Immigration website.

if you can get the DTV visa... that's your best option.

Its sad that you did not get the DTV visa in the UK, home country. As the Thai Embassy in the UK appears, from reports, to be easier for UK Passport holders to get the DTV visa.

thanks very much for the info James it’s a great help. I’ve applied for the DTV visa here in the uk, I’ve been asked for additional information but sent that off.

My partner has applied for the guardian visa for my daughter who starts school on the 14th August. It does seem like a very complex job to get to stay in Thailand, which is great that they value their security and borders.

@James *******
can you apply for an extension after the 180 days?
James ********
@Dan **********
Yes but it's easiest to do a BORDER BOUNCE. The requirements for the extension are similar to those you used to get the DTV visa plus ADDED ones which differ from one Thai Immigration office to another office in Thailand.
