Any Bus experts here. So far I’ve got the bus twice from BKK Ekkamai to Koh Samet (Ban Phe). Google maps show a route that takes 2.5hrs. Both times the buses stray miles off that route and take 3.5 hrs. Does anyone know a bus service (not a taxi) that goes directly please .

If you get a minivan which is shit, itll be slower bcos they go right through chonburi and sattjahip

It should take about 3 hours in my experience...

TIT . who still believe that if your app says 2hours 15minutes .it's gonna be 2'15

travel takes the time it takes . is one hour so important ? you're on a buziness trip where you meet huge big partners ? or you're traveling for fun ???

It will never take 2.5 hours and I'm pretty sure there is no direct. The best is to get to Rayong city bus station Terminal 1 (not terminal 2) and then get one of those small 2 benches open cheap buses (xong-tail) which takes you to ban-phe pier in max 30 minutes.

It's s going to take 3 hours, all together.

Busses has to service as many towns and villages as possibel in the area, thats why they not always go the direct way, as anywhere else in the world.

yes. But when you buy the tickets from Ekkamai bus station they tell you it’s direct, they usually say 3. Or 3.5 hours. Which is about right but there is a 2.5 hr route they never take
Henrik *****
When no need to change busses on the way, it is considered to be direct.

“Directly” does not mean the same thing in Thailand that it means in much of the world

Busses are allowed to drive only 80 km per hour compared to cars 120 km. That's why Google maps messes up.

buy ticket at Ekkamai bus station in advance or on the day. Big bus 180b. Smaller bus 200b. Big bus has a toilet. At Ban phe find ferry pier 50b ferry 30 mins or speedboat 15 mins
*****
one way 400b return (varies on where you buy it) Nuanthip pier seems the nicest and most organised pier. Although there are 2 or 3. If you know when you are coming back buy a return ticket for the bus and the speedboat and then you will be told where to go for the return boat/bus because otherwise you may end up in a different pier for your bus back. (From experience). You can buy bus ticket back to Bkk from Nuanthip pier to Ekkamai. Also some buses go to mo chit. So be careful.
