Entering Thailand 4 Months After DTV Approval – Any Issues?

Hi everyone, hope you’re doing well!

I wanted to ask if anyone here received their DTV and only entered Thailand around four months after the visa was issued, rather than within the roughly three-month period that seems to be recommended (That’s what was written on the Thailand e-Visa website. It said that we had three months to enter Thailand after the visa was approved, that’s why I am asking)

If so, did you have any issues when entering Thailand? Did immigration officers question you about the delay, refuse entry, or cause any other problems?

Also, does anyone know whether there are reasons that immigration officers would consider valid for entering later, for example, around four months after the DTV was issued instead of within three months?

I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has had first-hand experience with this.

Thank you!
Answer summary
The user is concerned about entering Thailand four months after receiving their DTV visa, as the official Thai e-Visa website states a three-month entry window. They seek insights from others who have had similar experiences regarding potential issues at immigration. Comments suggest that the DTV visa allows for more flexible entry dates, with responses indicating that entering later than three months may not pose a problem, and it's advisable to carry supporting documents from the visa application.

What was the purpose for your DTV visa application?

Workcation DTV or Soft Power?

If Soft Power Activity... which one and for how long did you sign up for with the course sponsor?

Anonymous participant thanks for your reply. You should have little problem entering Thailand with your DTV visa. Suggest you carry with you a copy of the documents you submitted with your DTV visa application. In case you are asked about the DTV by Thai Immigration officers.

Enjoy your next 5 years of the DTV visa. Safe travels 🧳

Anonieme deelnemer I don't expect them to even check this, but always be prepared to answer questions about delay.

When you apply only INTENDED travelling dates are asked, and intentions can change.

So they won’t mind the entry date if it’s more than three months away?

The fact we need to ask you a question to answer your question proves you didn’t need to ask this.

I don’t understand your comment. If you have an answer or personal experience to share, you’re very welcome to do so. If not, that’s completely fine too.

I’m asking this question because this is what was written on the official Thai e-Visa website when I applied, so I’m looking for actual feedback from people who have been through the same process

Anonymous participant the visa is valid for 5 years.

That means you have 5 years from the date of approval, to the date of expiry to use it. Doesn’t have to be right after.

When I applied for the visa, it said that once the application was approved, I would have three months to enter Thailand. I’m not sure if this is specific to applications made from France, but that’s what it said when I submitted mine

Anonymous participant Some visas have this requirement. The DTV does not. Embassies ask for applications 90 days before you wish to travel for their own processing but that is for workload reasons.

Anonymous participant You are fine entering much later than the 90 days.
