Background
I applied under the Medical Treatment category for ongoing treatment of ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis / Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) with Post-Exertional Malaise (PEM) and several related chronic conditions.
I had already completed two treatment periods at the same Traditional Chinese Medicine PRIVAYE clinic in Bangkok earlier this year, during which my symptoms finally started to improve.

1. Personal Cover Letter
I wrote a detailed cover letter explaining:
- My medical history.
- That I have suffered from ME/CFS and related chronic illnesses for approximately X years.
- That I have an officially recognized disability due to multiple chronic conditions.
- That I have tried numerous treatments in my home country without lasting success.
- That a specialist clinic confirmed there is currently no curative treatment for ME/CFS, and available therapies are mainly supportive.
- That I had previously been treated twice at the same clinic in Bangkok and experienced noticeable symptom improvements in fatigue, PEM, sleep, digestion, sinus symptoms, and overall functioning.

3. Detailed Treatment Plan
The clinic also provided a separate treatment schedule showing:
- Multiple treatment phases covering approximately TWO years.
- The first intensive treatment phase.

My advice
I believe the biggest reason my application went smoothly was that I tried to make the visa officer's job as easy as possible.
Everything was organized into clearly named PDF files with a table of contents. Related documents were grouped together (medical documents, clinic documents, financial documents, previous treatment records, etc.), so the officer could quickly find everything.
I also clearly described my sources of income and the amount I get per month (both employeer and health insurance).
If you're applying for a Medical DTV, I would strongly recommend including:
- A detailed cover letter.
- A comprehensive medical letter from the clinic.
- A structured treatment plan.
- Proof of payment.
- Previous treatment records (if applicable).
- Official clinic licensing documents.
- Strong financial evidence.
- Well-organized PDFs with clear filenames.
My application was approved in 7 calendar days, and I was not asked to provide any additional documents.
I hope this helps others preparing a Medical DTV application. Good luck to everyone applying!
