Sharing my experience getting the DTV (Workation) through the Royal Thai Embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel 🇮🇱
Big thank you to this group - your posts and timelines helped me a lot. And honestly, a lot of credit goes to using Claude to structure logically, sanity-check, and convert all my documents into clean PDFs 😄
Timeline:
📌 26.04 Submitted online + 30.04 paid the fee in Embassy
📌 2–3 days later – request for additional documents
📌 05.05 Sent the additional documents
📌 Long silence on “Pending Document Check”
📌 15.05 (~7th working day) – sent a short status inquiry email
📌 Next day – moved to “Pending Approval”
📌 20.05 – Approved ✅
What actually helped:
✍️ A cover letter for each document block, even when not asked in the fields, but there is in the official - explaining what it is and why it meets the requirement. Saves the officer from guessing.
🧠 Building the files the way an officer would want to read them - related documents merged into one PDF in logical order, key parts highlighted (balance, names, dates). Goal: everything clear in 30 seconds, no reason for another RFD.
⏳ Not pushing the embassy too early - waited until their stated SLA passed, then sent one polite inquiry. That seems to be what nudged it forward.
Hope it helps 🙌
P.S. Now it’s time to apply for my husband as a dependent. but here’s the current catch: there are no payment appointment slots available at all 😩
