Hi all, I am in the process of getting a work permit. The company does not have any experience dealing with it so I am doing research myself. What are the requirements for the picture and does it need to be in front of the office? I read passport pictures are not allowed, but I am not sure. Location will be bkk. Thanks! :)

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a work permit in Thailand, specific photograph requirements must be met. Generally, applicants need three types of photographs: one taken with other staff members in the workplace, one of the office building, and one of the office front displaying the company logo or name. Additionally, formal headshots are required, typically 3x4 cm in size, taken with a blue background while wearing a shirt and tie. Passport photos are generally not acceptable, and it's common for photographers to enhance the images using Photoshop to meet these specifications.

Work Permit Photo - This is similar to any face / shoulders passport / visa app photo only a special size - 3 x 4 cm - blue background --- and the photographer will use photoshop to overlay a suit jacket and tie...

They need your 3 pictures, 1 inside working place with other staff members, one picture of your office building and one pic of your office front with company logo/name. This is what they asked from me at the time of applying my work permit.

And for the form u need 4 formal pictures

Size 3cm×4cm

Sorry Danny I removed my comment. The pictures I mentioned are actually for the non-B renewal and not the actual work permit. Got a bit mixed up. Nice to hear it's a fun company you work for :)

Better to keep it professional. You know how they can be :/

Can they be funny pictures or does immigration not have a sense of humor? :-D

Yes after you get the work permit you apply for the non-b and that's where the pictures are needed.

Ah ok, think I found it. They are required for the 1 year non b after I have the wp.

But what you mean with non b renewal? The extension of stay for immigration? I now have a non b single entry...

Ok, makes more sense now. Will go to a photo shop! Maybe I first will visit an Indian tailor for a suit. ;-)

I could also choose a Toga from every University in Thailand. LOL

Good tip. :)

The photo shop I went to used photoshop to put a nice suit on my shoulders.

And yes Robert Lagas is right, photoshop is the best way. So do mine all these years. I even got a suit on. 🤦🏼‍♂️

I see. I don't remember having to produce any photos in that manner.

For application it is a picture with shirt and tie not sure about the size but they are bigger than passport size. Every photo shop can make the picture and even put the shirt and tie around your neck if you do not have one.

I think OP is rather talking about the pictures taken within the workplace.

Not sure anymore now. :-D

It has to be taken with blue background with shirt and tie to avoid being rejected on the spot. Don't be confused with visa photos it's not the same size.

Who makes those pictures? I thought pictures would need to be taken in front of the office? So everyone needs to wear a tie and white shirt?
