Hi all, update from Mae Sot - Myawaddy crossing: they are not letting foreigners leave across the bridge, saying that the Myanmar side will not let you in. I went to check this morning and was told by a couple of the immigration guys there; then went to the immigration office and they confirmed. They were not sure how long this would last. They suggested flying to Yangon from Bangkok but I can't confirm/deny if this is still possible or what documents are needed. Myanmar folks can still cross the bridge.
Can anyone suggest another border crossing close-ish to Mae Sot that is still operating as normal? At this point I would like to just hop out and back in asap on the visa exemption. The crossing at Nong Khai requires a visa now?
Thanks very much

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user reports that foreigners are currently unable to leave Thailand via the Mae Sot-Myawaddy crossing due to restrictions from the Myanmar side. They seek alternative border crossing options close to Mae Sot for a quick visa exemption run, asking about the current situation at Nong Khai, which may now require a visa.
