TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses experiences and recommendations for seeking medical attention in Pattaya for suspected broken ribs, focusing on chest X-ray consultations. Various hospitals such as Bangkok Hospital and Memorial Hospital are mentioned, with costs ranging from 900 baht to around 6,000 baht reported by users. The conversation highlights that while an X-ray may not always indicate fractures, evaluating by a competent doctor is crucial. Overall, the emphasis is on monitoring symptoms and consulting medical professionals as needed.

There are many reasons for chest pain, best to see a Dr, doesn't necessarily need an x-ray, no specific treatment for broken ribs, only complications from serios breaks that damage the lungs which you would be aware of with symptoms, however all in all best to see a doctor to be examined.

Did it Chiang Mai, no broken ribs or punctured lung, just a dislocated shoulder and broken collar bone. 4k

Probably better to seek a competent, experienced doctor and explain the symptoms, rather than the diagnosis.

Went in to Bangkok hospital last year with pain in right side; MRT, CT and few tablets were around 500 eur for what it turned out to be kidney stones.

I am recovering from what I think is broken ribs. I didn't go to doctor, but from what I read it's healing ok . It's the 5 week today. I was taking painkillers for four weeks. As long as you are breathing ok , not sure what you will benifit from the x-ray.

I had a chest x-ray in the Bangkok hospital ,here in koh phangan and including some other checks for retirement visa it was 900 baht . Have you stopped painkillers?

Did it years ago, went to memorial hospital. I think it was around 6K.

The problem with broken or cracked ribs is, if the fracture is relatively fresh it doesn't always show on the x-ray. Even if you got fractured ribs there isn't a lot they can do except to give you painkillers to ease the pain. The pain should get bearable after around five days and you can do your day to day things after around two to three weeks. Your body will tell you what you can and can't do through pain. If you can't feel an abnormality by touching your chest you should be alright without going to a hospital.

There is another way to detect broken ribs. A doctor takes a stethoscope to your chest and listens to your breathing. If they're broken there is a crackling noise.

Hope I could help.

sounds more like a dislocated vertebrae in your back or a dislocated rib. Try to rub the whole area with Diclofenac gel. It should get better after a few days. AND by all means, don't rub it with a hot cream right now. If you can locate a dislocated vertebrae then you could use some hot cream just on that vertebrae before going to bed.
